Assistant Equipment Manager

SUMMARY:  Assist in managing the day to day fabrication, repair and maintenance of all equipment related to the vineyard operations and company vehicles.  Planning and anticipating the needs of each season in order to execute farming practices is key.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist the Equipment Manager in overseeing the company’s fleet of tractors, A.T.V.s, trucks, harvesters, tractor implements, electric motors, gas and diesel engines and other electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
Coordinate general repairs of mobile and non-mobile equipment necessary for efficient vineyard operations.
Properly, safely and productively use a wide range of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, gas and hand tools.
Assist/operate gas, ark, mig and tig welding for fabrication and repairs.
Transport equipment using commercial vehicles.
Trouble shoot and diagnose problematic and/or defective equipment. Assist in timely engineering of safe solution.
Use creative skills to invent new and/or improve current equipment to enhance vineyard mechanization
Ensure vineyard equipment team and ranch supervisors are equipped with proper tools/equipment.
Enlists internal and external resources to improve standard work processes and material handling methods.
Executes capital projects.
Improves and document the effectiveness of systems, policies and procedures.
Communicates with vineyard supervisors on equipment problems, work schedule changes and upcoming plans.
Participates in team meetings and make recommendations regarding quality enhancement, cost savings, improved safety.
Participates in and contributes to sustainability, lean manufacturing, and ISO efforts
Supervise all work completions in computer based GPS based remote asset management/tracking program (GeoForce)
Provide input and develop annual equipment capital budgets and farming equipment maintenance plans.
Monitors and manage parts and materials purchasing, invoicing and approvals.
Facilitate equipment specific training and documentation.
Support vineyard equipment special needs/requests.
Assist in compliance management and regulatory agencies (DOT, EPA, Hazardous waist, CalOSHA)

REQUIRED SKILLS

Degree in Industrial Maintenance Technology or other similar trade certificate
5 or more years of technical production, operations, or technical maintenance management
5 years of supervisory experience
Bilingual in English and Spanish is a must
Experience working in a Union a plus
GPS bases telemetry and remote asset management.
Regulatory and compliance management.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Required to lift and carry product and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Ability to push and pull heavy objects
Ability to climb, stoop, bend and lift

Delivery Truck Driver

SUMMARY: The Delivery Truck Driver is responsible for delivering product to our customers, warehouse, and tasting rooms on a predetermined route. The Delivery Truck Driver is responsible for maintaining strong customer rapport and providing quality service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Deliver products to scheduled accounts in good condition and within scheduled delivery time.

· Maintain assigned vehicle in accordance to applicable safety regulations.

· Driving an 18' Delivery Truck (up to 26,000 lbs GVW) to deliver cases/kegs of wine

· Driving a 53’ tractor trailer for transfer loads of finished product

· Complete all paperwork and procedures as required

· Understand and practice safe operation of hand and lift trucks

· Ensure housekeeping and cleanliness/safety of warehouse/vehicle by following safe work habits

· Operate equipment to move products to designated areas and load product into trucks in a safe and efficient manner

· Communicate with managers and co-workers, and various other business functions to ensure coordination of team effort in all endeavors

· Obey all state liquor laws and regulations

· Complete all other tasks or projects as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

· High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)

· 2 years of delivery experience and face to face customer interaction

· 1 year of commercial driving experience

· 21 years of age or older

· Lift, push, and pull a minimum of 50 pounds repeatedly

· Valid Class A CDL and driver’s license

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects. Required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch. Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. This job requires use of the phone.
