OPEN POSITIONS

Bottling Manager

The Bottling Manager reports to the General Manager and serves as a key member of the bottling and finished goods team in a large bottling and distribution facility. He/She manages and coordinates the activities of production personnel engaged in packaging wine products for storage & shipment, including providing leadership, direction and facilitation on multiple high speed production lines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead multiple production teams to achieve production metrics in a manner consistent with our culture and values.
Direct and coach production operators in the execution of daily/weekly production schedules for multiple packaging lines. 
Coach, mentor, train, develop and evaluate team members and leaders and assess and create plans to grow the skills and competencies of frontline employees to meet current and future business requirements 
Drive continuous improvement through teamwork, skills and capability development.
Partner cross functionally with Winery, Planning, Quality, Maintenance and the Warehouse to maximize efficiencies and output of high quality product 
Ensure adherence to applicable quality and manufacturing standards, and GMPs.
Monitor and enforce all OSHA and Company safety regulations and policies as well as lead safety programs for Bottling Department through development and execution of safe practices, process documentation, ensuring understanding of SOP's to minimize severity of workplace accidents, and ensuring that PPE is utilized for each team member and guest
Ensure that planned efficiency and production numbers are attained or exceeded to ensure customer demand can be fulfilled on time
Ensure quality goals and preventative maintenance of lines is completed to standard
Develop skill training program to reward performance and facilitate promotion based on merit
Facilitate the use of continuous improvement methodologies and projects to improve and streamline production processes
Participate in projects including workforce planning, budgeting, new product launches, equipment installs or upgrades
Provide periodic weekend and swing shift coverage as a member of the leadership team in the facility

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related field
Five or more years of production experience in a bottling or packaging environment with five or more years of experience in a team leadership capacity 
Prior experience in the consumer products industry or food and beverage with familiarity with quality and hygiene regulation desired
Knowledge or exposure to TPM, Six Sigma, 5S and various problem solving methodologies
Solid understanding of production processes, preventative maintenance and budget management
Demonstrated track record of leading, training, motivating, discipline, coaching and developing individuals and teams in a manner consistent with our culture

REQUIRED SKILLS

LANGUAGE - Must speak, read and write in English – Spanish a plus
TECHINICAL – Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, business management and intelligence software (Microsoft NAV preferred)
GENERAL – Excellent relationship building skills with the ability to partner internally and externally to achieve results; Ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives on tight deadlines and delegate accordingly; Effective communication skills with the ability to influence change and encourage action; Solid problem solving abilities with the ability to coach and mentor others in this capacity; Ability and willingness to respond to after-hours calls for critical issues and provide weekend coverage during heavy volume production schedules; Positive can do attitude with strong problem solving abilities.

Finished Goods Project Manager

 

SUMMARY:  Under general supervision, the Finished Goods Project Manager will act as a liaison between the Sales, Winery, Procurement, Winemaking, and Bottling Operations teams.  This position will be responsible for a variety of front end planning activities required to attain production objectives.  Responsible to formulate and support the execution of the inventory investment strategy while maintaining a high level of support to the Sales team through constant communication and timely availability of product.  Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Work with Sales to manage run rates
Work with Sales to provide projection on bottling dates
Establish priorities for specific customer orders, including export and specialty projects (e.g. waxing)
Provide input to management regarding problems such as shortages, design changes and backlogs
Act as a liaison for all customer service groups, communicate any market intelligence and trends effecting customer deliveries
Communicate opportunity buys to Bulk Sales division
Partner with Procurement, Production, Marketing, and Quality to manage package change projects and ensure successful execution and implementation
Manage all Product Specification Forms
Manage specification library (glass, cork, capsule, label, screwcap) and track packaging changes for BRC compliance purposes
Manage project approval process in Teamwork
Partner with Sales/Marketing on new brand development and execution
Partner with Winemaking to determine optimal time for bottling to maximize efficiencies
Manage the action items resulting from the weekly bottling meeting
Manage the agenda for the sales and operations monthly planning meeting
Help manage hard counts for specific orders/clients
Exports order management

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field preferred
2+ years relevant experience in manufacturing environment
Food/beverage packaging experience a plus
Quality Control experience a plus

REQUIRED SKILLS

LANGUAGE - Ability to respond to basic inquiries from clients and business affiliates.  Ability to read and write required correspondence that confirm to prescribed style and format.  Ability to effectively present information to co-workers, affiliates, clients and the public
TECHINICAL – Intermediate to advanced capability in MS Office Suite, ERP systems proficiency
GENERAL – Ability to be highly analytical, detail oriented, deliver on stated objectives and work both independently and in a team setting

Vineyard Technology Specialist

SUMMARY:  This position will integrate the practical applications of technology into vineyard operations.  The primary objective is to improve viticulture and vineyard management efficiencies, productivity, and profitability.  Priorities include developing software and hardware integrations that deliver timely and accurate information in an efficient manner that minimizes overhead costs of our IT infrastructure.  The Technology Specialist is expected to develop and maintain current expertise in Geographic Information Systems, Remote Sensing Technologies (aerial and ground based measurements), GPS technologies, database systems, workgroup systems, networks and communications, and computer hardware. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Vine Inventory Database: Build and maintain accurate row and block level GIS data infrastructure that tiers to our Vine Inventory Database through ground based GPS control measurements and database construction.   Assist the Vit Team and IT Team in maintaining the inventory database through field based data capture of disease and replant vine counts in the MobileFrame system.
Irrigation Systems Data: Help plan and execute an operation wide GPS mapping and hardware inventory of irrigation systems to facilitate operation, optimization, monitoring, maintenance, and repair of our irrigation systems.
GIS System Integrations: Integrate and process operational data coming in from a range of sources such as GPS equipment tracking, activity/production tracking, field data capture, weather sensors, soil moisture data, lab results, and phenology data to facilitate utility and decision making relevancy of these data through geographic visualization and other information products.
GIS Data and Map Accessibility: Leverage secure internet GIS services to deploy operational data to appropriate users and follow conventions and protocol of our IT department to prevent unwanted access to critical operational data.
Harvest: Assist the VitTeam in deployment of harvest inventory, yield monitoring, and shipment tracking systems.
Work in cooperation with vineyard supervisors, PCAs, equipment supervisors, HR, IT, and payroll

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Strong IT skills in software, hardware, and network management
Strong analytical skills, using GIS, spreadsheets, and databases to solve complex problems

REQUIRED SKILLS

LANGUAGE - Excellent communication skills; Spanish bilingual is a plus

TECHNICAL –working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, ESRI, SQL, coding language is a plus

GENERAL – Ability to multitask and prioritize; ability to work flexible and extended hours as seasons dictate; disciplined work ethic which values punctuality, productivity and organization
