Finished Goods Project Manager

 

SUMMARY:  Under general supervision, the Finished Goods Project Manager will act as a liaison between the Sales, Winery, Procurement, Winemaking, and Bottling Operations teams.  This position will be responsible for a variety of front end planning activities required to attain production objectives.  Responsible to formulate and support the execution of the inventory investment strategy while maintaining a high level of support to the Sales team through constant communication and timely availability of product.  Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Work with Sales to manage run rates
Work with Sales to provide projection on bottling dates
Establish priorities for specific customer orders, including export and specialty projects (e.g. waxing)
Provide input to management regarding problems such as shortages, design changes and backlogs
Act as a liaison for all customer service groups, communicate any market intelligence and trends effecting customer deliveries
Communicate opportunity buys to Bulk Sales division
Partner with Procurement, Production, Marketing, and Quality to manage package change projects and ensure successful execution and implementation
Manage all Product Specification Forms
Manage specification library (glass, cork, capsule, label, screwcap) and track packaging changes for BRC compliance purposes
Manage project approval process in Teamwork
Partner with Sales/Marketing on new brand development and execution
Partner with Winemaking to determine optimal time for bottling to maximize efficiencies
Manage the action items resulting from the weekly bottling meeting
Manage the agenda for the sales and operations monthly planning meeting
Help manage hard counts for specific orders/clients
Exports order management

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field preferred
2+ years relevant experience in manufacturing environment
Food/beverage packaging experience a plus
Quality Control experience a plus

REQUIRED SKILLS

LANGUAGE - Ability to respond to basic inquiries from clients and business affiliates.  Ability to read and write required correspondence that confirm to prescribed style and format.  Ability to effectively present information to co-workers, affiliates, clients and the public

Purchasing Assistant

 

SUMMARY: Under general supervision the purchasing assistant will perform a variety of clerical duties to support the purchasing and finished goods departments. This detail oriented person will maintain essential purchasing files and databases and will serve as a back up to the finished goods compliance specialist.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Serve as backup to compliance specialist for all wine transferred to bottling warehouse through the shipment of finished product

o Enter wine usage transactions into NAV database

o Trouble shoot and reconcile issues daily and semimonthly for reporting

* Manage UPC spreadsheet and approve UPC for label approval

* NAV data entry and maintenance

o Enter Bill of Materials

o Complete Job Card

o Enter Planned Production Orders (from additions sheet)

o Create new item codes for dry goods (other than labels)

o Create new item codes - Roll Vintage for wine

o Create new item codes - Roll Vintage for Finish Case goods

o Post completed production and consumed wine and dry goods

* Packaging Purchasing

o Enter Purchase Orders in Nav based on direction from Purchasing Specialist

o Run open PO report, follow-up on any late deliveries

o Update Purchase order delivery dates in NAV as delivery dates are confirmed

o Work with Receiving clerk to ensure corrections are made in NAV PO for packaging receipts

o Provide an updated list of packaging receiving dates/planned delivery schedule to shipping, receiving, and bottling weekly.

* Winery purchase orders-

o Assist in creation of POs from winery requisitions

o Insure Purchase Unit of measure aligns with vendor Unit of measure

o Assist A/P with Invoice questions

o Enter receipts for winery additives

* Vineyard purchase orders

o Create PO from Vineyard requisition and send to vendors

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

* 1 year in a clerical role

* Associates or Bachelor’s degree a plus

* Prior experience in data entry a plus

Warehouseman Level 1

 

SUMMARY: Under general supervision the Warehouseman Level 1 will perform a variety of duties to ensure that the process of receiving, storing, and shipping of raw materials and finished goods is completed in an efficient and accurate manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Picking, labeling and staging orders for shipments

* Completing and entering paperwork for all outbound shipments

* Completing and entering paperwork for all inbound receiving

* Collect weekly cycle counts of Finished Goods inventory

* Collect monthly inventory count and data reconciliation of all Finished Goods at all warehouse locations

* Oversee and manage relabeling and repacking projects

* Maintain warehouse in a clean, safe and operationally efficient manner

* Assist with the organization, labeling and management of the dry goods racking system

* Fill and ship all Finished Goods sales samples in a timely manner

* Utilize technology to enhance and improve warehouse operations, including NAV and hand-held systems

* Weekly delivery of Finished Goods to local customers and tasting rooms as needed

* Weekly inspection and cleaning of forklifts

* Lead and participate in continuous improvements following BRC and GMP practices

* Other duties as assigned by Management

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

* 2 years of forklift experience

* 2 years of experience in a warehouse setting

REQUIRED SKILLS

* LANGUAGE - Ability to respond to basic inquiries from clients and business affiliates. Ability to read and write required correspondence that confirm to prescribed style and format. Maintenance Mechanic

 

 

SUMMARY: The maintenance mechanic is responsible for the day to day and annual maintenance of all mechanical and electrical system associated with our winery and bottling facilities. The role will encompass installation, preventive maintenance, repairs, and modifications to our processing equipment, buildings, and facilities. The maintenance mechanic will work with the operations team, which includes mechanics, supervisors, managers, and other winery and bottling personnel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Comply with all safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe work environment

* Maintain work areas clean and organized

* Respond to equipment emergency repairs as needed

* Minimize down time to maximize quality and yield

* Perform inspections of winery, bottling, and facilities equipment such as air compressors, fire pump, refrigeration system, hoist, grape presses, crushers, boilers, pumps, chillers, Monobloc, palletizers, etc.

* Perform preventive maintenance on equipment (inspection, lubrication, repairs)

* Ensure proper lubricant, parts, or adjustments are being made or used when performing any maintenance/repairs

* Upon completing a task, ensure the equipment can function by testing it; account for all parts, and alert affected employees

* Communicate with manager regarding discrepancies, problems beyond capabilities, and all safety hazards

* Assist other mechanics in the repair and maintenance of equipment

* Must be able to interpret and work off blue prints, electrical schematics and hydraulic systems

* Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

* Minimum of 3 years of on-the-job maintenance experience

* Equivalent relevant course work may be substituted for on-the-job experience

REQUIRED SKILLS

* LANGUAGE - Ability to respond to basic inquiries from coworkers. Ability to read and write.

* TECHNICAL

o Proficient in stainless steel welding for food grade applications.

o Knowledgeable in mechanical drive fundamentals (ie: chain drive sprocket and gearbox ratios).

o Proficient in the use of standard hand tools (drills, grinders, cut-off saws, impact wrenches, etc)

o Able to troubleshoot electrical systems up to 480 volts and motor controls

o Able to program and troubleshoot Variable Frequency Drives

o Understand and operate ammonia refrigeration system

o Able to troubleshoot and repair air compressors/air dryers

Maintenance Parts Clerk

 

SUMMARY: The parts clerk oversees the purchasing of all maintenance supplies and parts. The employee maintains an accurate parts inventory to support the maintenance operations team. The employee is also responsible for scheduling all preventive maintenance work per the master maintenance schedule.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Sourcing materials, obtaining quotes, and creating purchase orders

* Placing restocking orders as necessary to maintain minimum inventory levels

* Evaluating and adjusting inventory levels based on historical usage

* Verifying incoming materials against packing lists/PO’s/invoices

* Performing cycle counts of inventories

* Delivering and picking up parts that are out for repair

* Researches alternative sourcing solutions for materials, parts, and vendors that pose a unique challenge

* Issues replacement parts to mechanics; assists mechanics in choice of parts

* Communicates with outside vendors to make sure parts are ordered and delivered within expected time

* Maintains store room and work areas clean and organized

* Schedules equipment maintenance per master maintenance schedule

* Assist with management of environmental compliance programs

* Assist with repairs and preventive maintenance as needed

* Comply with all safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe work environment

* Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

* 5 years of experience in parts/inventory management

* 3 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment

REQUIRED SKILLS

Quality Technician

 

SUMMARY: Under general supervision the Quality Technician will perform a variety of duties to ensure the highest level of quality in the Winery Operation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Quality analysis of incoming dry goods for bottling production

* Daily Preparation and verification of wine chemistry to meet winemaking specifications.

* Verification of wine, dry goods and coding for each bottling SKU

* Verification of sanitation: sparger, filler, leveler, corker and filter integrity

* Verification of bottle specifications before startup and throughout production processes

* Problem solving on quality issues with wine and bottling leaders

* Documentation of key metrics for data analysis

* Maintenance of calibration and logs of all laboratory instruments

* Preparation of laboratory standards and solutions

* Direct communication with bottling line operators and production personnel

* General analysis and sampling of wine/juice samples

* Assists in special projects as needed

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

* BS. in Food Science, Chemistry, or Microbiology with 2-3 years’ quality experience in a bottling or food production environment

REQUIRED SKILLS

* LANGUAGE - Ability to respond to basic inquiries from clients and business affiliates. Ability to read and write required correspondence that confirm to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to co-workers, affiliates, clients and the public. Spanish speaking a plus.
